That’s it! After 4 months of hard work. We are pleased to announce the opening of BALLEKES.
Located on the corner of Jansson square in Saint-Gilles at the intersection of many lively neighbourhoods : Chatelaîn, Avenue Lousie, Parvis Saint-Gilles, Ma Campagne. The place was previously known as the SISISI, a cafe-bistro, well-known by all the Brusseleir in town looking for small bite or a drink late at night. The place was shut down for almost 3 years and an half and the building was totally abandonned. In other words, there was nothing left in the building. We had to rebuild everything from scratch (water pipes, electricity, gas installation, walls, roof, kitchen … ).
We really love the place beause the facade is a reminder of the art deco Brussels style. We renovated everything in a contemporary style but wanted to keep a traditional brasserie touch at the same time. We also managed to renovate the 100 years old stained glassed of the front window and kept the entrance as the orginial one.
We really hope that you will enjoy the new design of the place !
See you soon 🙂
Let’s get it started.
Yes, the SISISI had a 1st floor room. We removed the steel stairs and closed the door in the middle of the wall.
View from the future Kitchen / counter area.
Let’s destroy the wall here and give some space for the light to come in.
Ok time to build a new ceiling and install air-conditioning.
DESTROY AND ROCK’N’ROLL 🙂
Let’s see… we need some new toilets here. The walls must go down!
Oh yeah now we have the space to think about the futur toilets design
