Like every Belgian kids, the co-founders, Florence and Thibault, were eating Ballekes (meatballs in Brussels and Flanders) every Sunday at their grandparents house.

It was the highlight of their week and growing up it soon became clear to them that they had to use the recipes they inherited from their grandmothers and share it with the world.

So in 2012, they opened ‘t Bolleke: a small belgian-bistro in the heart of Brussels where meatballs were of course their specialty.

People really liked it !

They liked it so much that in 2015, they decided to take the Belgian meatballs to a next level and started BALLEKES, a contemporary place where you can enjoy traditional Belgian meatballs, sauces, fries, beers, desserts and much more. They are committed to use traditional recipes made out of fresh and local ingredients.
